From February to July 2025, the CNR IAC, in collaboration with the Sapienza University of Rome, is organising the "Pizza seminars" series on various areas of mathematics.
The seminars will take place every Thursday at 12.30 pm at the CNR IAC, Via dei Taurini 19, Rome and will be broadcast online via zoom.
The dynamic list of speakers can be found at the link below.
Speaker: Riccardo Montalto (Università di Milano)
Small and large amplitude quasi-periodic waves in Fluid Mechanics
Speaker: Paolo Buttà (Sapienza, Rome)
Time evolution of concentrated vortex rings
On Wednesday the 5th of March 2025 at 14:30 Youssef Khalifeh from the Lebanese University in Hadat will give a seminar on the extended KDV equation for the description of the propagation of waves in weakly non-linear, weakly dispersive shallow water problems.
Youssef Khalifeh, Lebanese University, Hadat, terrà il seminario:
Title: A new Extended KDV Equation: Theoretical Study, Numerical Validation & Tsunami Application
1. comunicazioni del Direttore;
2. giornate IAC;
3. aggiornamento VQR;
4. situazione UGOV

The ROOTS project focuses on studying the dynamics of soil organic carbon (SOC) using innovative numerical methods and data-driven techniques to understand SOC spatial patterns and promote sustainable land use. SOC is essential for soil health, enhancing water retention, nutrient availability, and erosion resistance. The project consists in the study of reaction-diffusion-chemotaxis models, including the MOMOS model, to explain soil aggregation and microbial organization. The project aims to address the following topics:
