GIOVANNI LUCA TORRISI

I am research director in applied mathematics. My research interests lie in the fields of probability and mathematical statistics, and I am interested in applications of these disciplines in insurance, finance, communication networks and machine learning. In 2018 I have obtained the national scientific habilitation as full professor in probability and mathematical statistics, and at the present I am director of the research unit at CNR-IAC of INdAM. I have been invited speaker at more than 20 international conferences, and I have been visiting professor in various international institutions such as Aalborg University, ENS (Paris), INRIA (Paris), Microsoft Research (Cambridge), NTU (Singapore), WIAS (Berlino). In 2028 I will give a course at the school "Statistics of Point Processes" (Luminy), organized by CIRM.
