BGK approximations to nonlinear evolution equations
A general approximation framework, based on singular semilinear hyperbolic approximations (vector BGK schemes), is presented to deal with general hyperbolic systems, which encompass compressible Euler equations, and also, in a different scaling, with general convection-diffusion systems and the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. In this talk, I will illustrate the structure of these approximations and their analytical numerical advantages and some recent improvements.
